Collaboration between Health Department’s Wake-Up Coalition, Mass in Motion-Melrose/Wakefield, Mystic Valley Tobacco Alcohol Program, Wakefield Daily Item, WCAT, Wakefield Public Schools & Wakefield Police
WAKEFIELD –The Health Department’s Wake Up (Wakefield Unified Prevention) Coalition and Mass in Motion-Melrose/Wakefield created the 2nd youth health and safety guide for parents was released. It was inserted in the Daily Item and mailed parents with 5th-12th students in the Wakefield Public Schools in May 2015.
The guide provides parents with useful health and safety information that they can talk over with their children and other parents. Articles such as “Stress Management”, Wakefield MythBusters, Teen Job Section, and “What are e-cigs?”, as well as a list of local Health and Mental Health Resources are a few content pieces that can be found in the 24-page guide: HealthSafety2015
A big thank you to all the local businesses and organizations that contributed to the production of this guide! All funds raised from this year’s effort will be used to provide positive opportunities for Wakefield youth including scholarships to cover Wakefield Recreation, Boys and Girls Club, and Wakefield Academy fees.
